My students already call this game ‘parkour’, as I like to put obstacles between them and me that are at least a bit challenging.
This deceivingly simple game has it all: movement, focus, attention to detail, grammar, friendly competition, teamwork, cooperation and logical thinking.
The person who is collecting the sentence word by word cannot write anything down. It is also important that the sentence is actually so long that it can’t be remembered by one person, as this promotes teamwork.
When preparing the sentence make sure to put in a couple of articles, prepositions and other grammar stuff that Slovaks tends to find difficult. Carefully notice what words they miss out on or get wrong as this will tell you what they still need more practice with.
Once the whole sentence has been successfully reconstructed on the board, you can use it to play ‘Steal the candy’.
And here is the complete sentence I used:
Ed has happily taught Pedro’s students twice English at Class this week.
